‘He’s Not Yo Son, Dude’: Fans Rush To Defend Ciara’s Husband Russell Wilson After Future Is Unsettled With Son’s New Job With Steelers
Russell Wilson’s public declaration of love for Ciara’s eldest son continues to spark criticism online. The Super Bowl champion and his wife have been together for almost a decade, but before that the R&B singer was engaged to the father of her son.
On Aug. 5, Wilson shared an Instagram post with a special message for young Future Zahir Wilburn, which fans see as a shady jab at the boy’s father, rapper Future.
“I am full of Joy! There is nothing better than seeing you smile! Our growing boy is becoming a young man. I’m proud of you Future! Helping out as a ball boy for the @Steelers and working alone & in the Locker Room,” Russell Wilson wrote on Instagram, in the caption of a photo he posted of Young Future.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback continued, “So dedicated to sports and everything you do! You are the light of my life. I love you. Keep winning son! Proud Post!” Good luck being you! There’s nothing you can’t do with Jesus by your side! I love you to Heaven and Back!”
Ten-year-old Future Zahir is the only child between Ciara and singer Nayvadius “Future” Wilburn. The two started dating in 2012, got engaged in 2013, and welcomed their son in 2014.
After 14 months of engagement, Ciara and Future called off the wedding. The “Goodies” singer began dating NFL quarterback Wilson in 2015, with whom she tied the knot the following year.
Ciara’s relationship with Wilson has been the topic of discussion for the past decade. In particular, the nine-time Pro Bowler’s role as Future Zahir’s stepfather is constantly fueling online debate.
For example, in response to Wilson’s recent Instagram post about Ciara’s firstborn son, one person on the social networking site responded, “He’s not a stepfather, he’s a REAL father FRIEND.”

Although Ciara’s husband has been praised for his parenting skills, Future has repeatedly faced accusations that he is a “difficult father.” In 2015, Ciara even claimed that her ex-husband is a bad father.
Future’s report on being an absentee father continues to do the rounds on the internet. One person on Instagram took a shot at the Freebandz record founder by writing, “The Deadbeats and Freeband Avengers Finna Hate in 3 2 1.”
A Russell Wilson fan said, “One thing about Russell, he doesn’t worry about the Future… And I love that.” However, critics believe that Russ’ post was an indirect insult to Future’s father. he yelled back at Wilson. Two said, “This man does too much” and “He is not my son.”
Future denied being a deadbeat father and confirmed that he plays an important role in Future Zahir’s life. The Grammy Award winner and Ciara finally settled their custody case in 2016. The judge awarded them joint custody of their son.
Besides Future Zahir, Russell Wilson and Ciara have three other children together: daughter Sienna Princess, 7, Win Harrison, 4, and 8-month-old Amora Princess. Wilson was childless before dating Ciara.
Meanwhile, his ex Future, on the other hand, has eight children with eight different wives.
